Having worked as an assistant for several fashion designers and brands, Athens-based fashion designer Charalampos Nikolaou showed a sample of his personal work in the Athens Fashion Week last March, where he participated in the Young Designers' show and won the first prize. For the time being he is preparing his first complete collection for Spring 2012, scheduled to be presented in the Athens Fashion Week in October.
An ordered grid of 600 blue foam blocks arranged in a 1.5m x 1.5m grid permeated the Prada Men's fashion show for Spring 2012 in Milan.
The blocks intended for audience seating also doubled as edges for the varied catwalk paths, inevitably integrated individuals into the show. Models filtered between the seats in highly choreographed catwalk patterns, turning along the grid in divergent directions. The rhythmic rows of seating situated within the confines of the historic building created an unexpectedly sculptural effect.

In the publication NOT A TOY Francesca Granata approaches the phenomenon of Radical Characters with an essay on the grotesque in contemporary fashion, examining the growing influence of the culture of contemporary art has on today's designers, a culture that catalyzes physical and creative boundaries and creates grotesque and hybrid images. During her guided tour of the exhibition, Francesca Granata will examine the theme of the grotesque body and its interpretation in fashion, using the exhibits as examples.

Last night at a party in Mets, Athens
Inspired by monks, surfers and military officials, the Conquistador Spring 2012 collection is about understated attitude translated with smart, handmade desirable garments. The colors of the season are caramel-camel, brown, dove grey, white and black.
Original new prints are introduced to the collection inpired by traditional Nomadic futuristic scarves, embroidered and applied to the garments as an extension of the garments silhouette.
Artesanal by Conquistador is the exclusive made to order leather service and three different styles of jackets complete the collection.
