Artist Pantelis Makkas is presenting his new performance titled "The End of Oblivion" tomorrow at Alex Mylonas Museum of Athens, as part of the exhibition "Constructing Memory Through The Moving Image" and as a parallel programme of the 3rd Biennale of Athens- Monodrome 2011. Dressed in Digitaria, Pantelis Makkas along with actors Theodora Tzimou and Nestoras Kopsidas will address the issue of definition and investigation of the cellural memory.
Featuring a series of dark dreams and visceral meditation, David Lynch, eclectic filmmaker, author,visual artist and musician will release his debut solo album titled "Crazy cloud time" on November 8th.
Before starting to work on his Fall 2011-12 collection titled "Serpens", Chinese designer Qiu Hao was nominated for the "Breakthrough Designer Award" from the Fashion Global Awards by WGSN, after having won the prestigious Woolmark Prize in 2008 and having his collection stocked at Colette, Paris. In a recent interview hosted in Surface Asia the designer said "My shapes are influenced by the snake" but if you ask him about his inspiration, he won't give you an answer as he thinks that "image is a simple way of saying complicated things".
Turkish photographer Arslan Sukan's new works will be hosted at Batagianni gallery of Athens in a new exhibition titled "Few Meters Away From The Mood" opening on November 8th. Sukan's photographs balance between reality and its transformation. The black surounds most compositions symbolizing the fear of uncertainty while the white and light symbolizes the hope of the effort and the new perspective.
